Thecha is a rural Maharastrian chutney which is usually served with Bhakris and Pithla-Bhaat. It can be also served with any rice-dal or roti-sabji as a side dish. The speciality of thecha is that it is not prepared using the mixer but using the mortar-pestle as shown below.
There are different kinds of thechas. This one is a simple one with green chillies, garlic and peanuts.
Ingriedients:
6-7 Green chillies
7-8 Garlic petals
Half cup roasted peanuts
1 teaspoon Oil
Salt
Procedure:
1. Mix all ingriedinets that is the green chillies, garlic petals and roasted peanuts and crush them using the mortar-pestle.
2. Once crushed to a coase paste, add salt and oil.
Serve it fresh as a side dish with Bhakri or roti or rice.
Notes:
1. If you do not have a mortar-pestle, you can use the mixer. But the taste may not be authentic.
2. Adjust the quantity of ingriedients as per your taste.
3. Always serve it fresh.
